My Story

My name is Crystal Gordon-Diaz, I am a wife, mother of three, a dedicated special education teacher for the City of Waterbury, community advocate, and proud Republican running for Alderwoman in Waterbury’s 2nd district. With over 15 years of experience in education, I have devoted my career to ensuring that every child regardless of ability receives the support, structure, and respect they need to thrive.

As a resident of Waterbury 2nd district, I understand the challenges families face every day. As a public servant in the classroom, I have seen firsthand how policy decisions at the local level impact real lives from school funding to public safety to economic opportunity.

I am running to serve in a new capacity, bringing a voice of reason, responsibility, and results to the city council. As alderwoman, I will fight for:

• Accountability in government spending

• Safe neighborhoods through strong community-police partnerships

• Support for working families and small businesses

• Empowering parents in education decisions

• Common-sense policies that respect taxpayers

With a teacher’s heart and a leader’s drive, I am ready to bring practical solutions not politics to city hall.
